Quick answer: The headline this month is the XP 3C, the new compact 3-inch carry pistol, now available for pre-order with the first units shipping in limited quantities soon. Alongside it, more comps are on the way, the in-house PVD finishing line is catching up, the custom shop is expanding, the new Fusion Firearms website is live, and the team was out at a regional event in June with a one-off giveaway gun.
There is a lot happening at Fusion this month. Here is the full rundown straight from Bob's monthly update, covering the new compact carry pistol, comps shipping, the PVD finishing progress, the bigger custom shop, the new website, and what the team has been up to.
What is the biggest news from Fusion in June 2026?
The biggest news is the XP 3C. It is the compact 3-inch member of the XP family, built for concealed carry, and it has been one of the most asked-about guns Fusion has. It is now available for pre-order, and the first units are shipping in limited quantities soon. If you have been waiting on a smaller carry option that still runs like the full-size guns, this is the one to watch.
The XP 3C is a 9mm built on the same platform thinking as the rest of the XP line: it is meant to disappear under a t-shirt and still run like its bigger brothers. It is optics ready and runs Glock-pattern magazines, the same way the rest of the lineup does. You can see the XP 3C on the site here.
When is the XP 3C shipping?
It is available for pre-order now, and Bob confirmed in the update that the first XP 3C units are shipping in limited quantities, so the earliest guns are heading out the door rather than later in the year. As with any first run, supply is limited at the start while production ramps up.
Are more comps shipping?
Yes. The comps, including the ported models, sold out heavily, and the custom shop has been running flat out to catch up. More are shipping over the coming weeks. The compensated pistol has been one of the strongest sellers in the lineup, and Fusion is getting product out as fast as the shop can build it. You can see the XP COMP lineup here.
What is the update on PVD finishes?
Fusion has been scaling up its in-house PVD finishing, and Bob was straight about it: there have been delays, and some customers are still waiting. The team brought in new cleaning equipment and reworked the prep process to get more consistent results out of the PVD tank, since clean preparation is most of the battle with PVD. Bronze has been shipping, several colors are now stable and in production, and the remaining colors are being dialed in. The goal is to be caught up on most of the backlog over the next few weeks. A more detailed video on the PVD setup is coming. If you want the background on what PVD actually is, read what a PVD finish is on a 1911.
What is happening in the custom shop and at the factory?
A lot. Fusion has been adding equipment and expanding the building, and the shop is finally getting back under control after a heavy stretch of construction. Highlights:
- A new laser lab and a new molding and polymer lab are going in, with more on what they are for in a future update.
- A new accuracy testing lab was just finished.
- New gunsmithing benches and work areas across the shop.
- An expanded engineering area with more computing power behind product development.
- A build-your-own custom option is coming to the website, where you will be able to pick colors and parts and send your configuration through the Fusion custom shop.
The custom shop is running near full capacity, and the plan is to keep expanding what it can do.
Did Fusion launch a new website?
Yes. The new Fusion Firearms website is live. It is cleaner and more interactive, and it is easier to find and compare products. The custom shop page and new vault items are rolling out shortly, and the site's blog section is where Fusion will host the tech tips and teardown-style content that cannot live on YouTube. A separate Fusion Ambassador site is also live for the brand's ambassador community, with a vendor-focused site coming after that.
What events has Fusion been at?
Fusion was at the ARM6 event on June 11 to 13 in Jacksonville. It was a smaller regional meet-up with a range day and live fire, and a chance to meet the people behind the products. Bob and the team were there, and the custom shop built a special one-off giveaway gun for the show, designed partly from audience feedback gathered on the brand's live podcast streams.
Fusion also took part in a recent local shooting event with live fire and vendors, the kind of community gathering the team likes to support. The message in the update was simple: get out to your local 2A events when you can.
What else is in the works?
A few more things Bob previewed:
- An armorer's course for the law-enforcement community is in development and will be shared through Fusion's partner channel. Folks in the LE world have been asking for it.
- A "Gun of the Week" short series showing custom shop builds and gunsmithing work.
- A 1911 history project around an early Remington-made 1911 a customer brought in, with Bob asking knowledgeable collectors to help dig into its background rather than refinishing a piece of history.
- Tech tips are coming back, with more shorts and long-form teardown content now that the shop is in order.
Quick tech tip: optics, screws, and your extractor
One real fix worth knowing if you run an optic on an XP, a 1911, or a 2011. Fusion found that on some older XP models, the optic plate screws could be just long enough to reach down and pin the extractor in the wrong position. The result is intermittent jamming that gets blamed on the optic when the real cause is the screw.
The fix is easy. If you tighten your optic plate and notice the screw will not fully seat, or there is still a little wobble, pull the plate and look for a witness mark on the top of the extractor. If it is there, take a thread or two off the bottom of the screw, or use a correct-length screw. Fusion can supply the right screws. It is a quick fix that clears the problem up.
