Introducing the Fusion XP COMP – The Evolution of the XP Pro

After months of development, testing, and real-world feedback, the Fusion Firearms XP Comp is here — a factory-compensated wide-body 1911 platform built on the XP Pro foundation. We engineered this model to deliver flatter shooting, faster follow-up shots, and a competition-ready control feel — all informed by input from our customers, test teams, and partners at Ermox.

From demand to development

Customers asked for a compensated model — we listened. Over the last 6–8 months we iterated on multiple compensator designs and tuned every detail based on shooter feedback. The XP Comp is the product of that process: prototypes, slow-motion testing, nationwide field tests, and daily collaboration with Ermox and our in-house team.

“Every improvement came directly from customer input. We tested, iterated, and pushed until we had something that truly met the needs of the modern shooter.” — Bob Serva

Key upgrades & features

Grip & ergonomics

  • New more aggressive texture on grip modules, mainspring housing, and front strap for superior purchase under recoil.

  • Multiple grip options coming: standard, the “Prickle” grip, and additional modules via the Fusion Vault custom shop.

Slide improvements

  • Heavier, deeper slide serrations for positive manipulation.

  • Top serrations perpendicular to the bore for easier press checks and racking.

  • Matching front/back texture for consistent feel.

Fusion compensator system

  • Uses a pin-threaded Fusion system (barrel is not threaded).

  • Clean final appearance — production units do not have top screws or visible pin holes.

  • Angled port geometry to reduce muzzle rise and tune performance.

  • Monoblock options available for tinkerers and division-specific setups.

Platform refinements

  • Frame geometry adjusted for better compatibility with Mec-Gar and other aftermarket magazines to prevent sticking or interference.

  • Low-profile slide stop standard on Comp; extended options still available.

  • Retains match-grade features: bar-stock construction, match barrel & trigger, Tenifer QPQ/hard chrome/PVD finishes, Novak sights, and included RMR/RMSC plates.

Built with collaboration

The XP Comp benefitted from daily exchanges with Ermox and endurance testing by our national test teams. These real-world rounds and feedback cycles helped us refine fit, function, and finish before full production.
