Hi folks, it's the Fusion Firearms team, and today I want to take you on a deeper dive into the XP Pro pistol. In our last video, we gave you a broad overview, but now, we're going to get into the finer details that make this pistol stand out. If you're as passionate about firearms as we are, you'll appreciate everything we've packed into this product.
Why We Chose Glock G17 Magazines
Let's kick things off with one of the best features of the XP Pro—it takes Glock G17 magazines. When we designed this pistol, we wanted to make sure it was as versatile and cost-effective as possible. Glock mags are easy to find pretty much anywhere in the world, and they’re much more affordable than 2011-style mags, which can cost up to $120 a piece. With Glock magazines, you can pick one up for about $20-$25, which means more shooting and less worrying about cost.
- Glock G17 Magazine Compatibility: Takes readily available and affordable Glock G17 magazines.
- Cost Savings: Glock mags cost around $20-$25, significantly cheaper than 2011-style mags ($60-$120).
- Global Availability: Glock magazines are easily found worldwide.
Versatile and Easy-to-Swap Sights
We made sure the sight options on the XP Pro give you the flexibility you need. The rear sight is mounted on a removable plate, secured with two Torx screws. This means you can easily swap out the sights to suit your preferences.
We chose a standard rear sight cut (495 by 65 degrees) to accommodate a wide variety of aftermarket options. Whether you prefer fixed, fiber optic, or tritium sights, the XP Pro can handle them. The pistol ships with a black serrated rear combat sight and a white dot front sight, but we also offer plates that are compatible with popular optics like the Trijicon RMR and Shield RMSc. We've made the process simple—just attach your optic of choice, and you're ready to go.
- Removable Rear Sight Plate: Allows for easy sight swaps with two Torx screws.
- Standard Rear Sight Cut: Accommodates various aftermarket options like fixed, fiber optic, or tritium sights.
- Optic Compatibility: Comes with plates for Trijicon RMR and Shield RMSc.
- Secure Installation: Features posts and screws for precise and reliable optic attachment.
Customizable Front Sight Options
At Fusion, we know that sight preferences vary, which is why we made sure the front sight is also easy to customize. The standard front sight uses a 330x65-degree dovetail, so if you prefer something different—tritium, fiber optic, or any other style—you can swap it out with ease.
- Standard Front Sight Dovetail: Uses a 330x65-degree dovetail for easy front sight swaps.
- Multiple Choices: Compatible with different front sights like tritium, fiber optics, or plain posts.
1911-Inspired Top-End Features
When we designed the XP Pro, we wanted to keep as much of the 1911 DNA as possible. The internal diameter of the slide is the standard 0.700 inches, so if you prefer a different barrel, you can use a Para Clark ramp barrel without any headaches. Components like the extractor, firing pin, and stop plate are also compatible with standard 1911 parts, making it easy to switch out parts if needed.
Plus, we’ve added a Tenifer finish to all metal parts, giving the XP Pro the best protection available. This quench-polish-quench process provides excellent durability, ensuring that your pistol can handle anything you throw at it while maintaining its sleek, matte black appearance.
- 1911 Compatibility: Retains standard 0.700-inch slide diameter for common Para Clark ramp barrels.
- Interchangeable Parts: Uses standard 1911 extractor, firing pin, and stop plate.
- Premium Tenifer Finish: Provides excellent durability and a sleek, matte black appearance.
A Redesigned Lower Parts, Frame & Grip for Improved Performance
To make the XP Pro Glock-compatible, we had to make some adjustments, starting with a custom slide stop. This part was specifically designed for the Glock magazines, and we’ll offer aftermarket options down the line if you’re looking to make further tweaks.
We’ve also refined the trigger group, crafting a solid, machined trigger from one piece of metal. This isn't your standard sheet metal bow; it’s built for durability and performance. We're also working on various trigger styles—curved, long, short—so you can truly personalize your pistol.
- Custom Slide Stop: Designed specifically for the XP Pro’s Glock magazine compatibility.
- Solid Machined Trigger: Durable one-piece design for superior performance.
- Future Customization Options: Various trigger styles (curved, long, short) will be available.
Ergonomics and Grip Design That Feel Natural
One of the standout features of the XP Pro is its 7075 aluminum grip module, which is fully machined and offers a sturdy yet lightweight feel. We’ve designed this grip to feel incredibly natural in your hand, with a 17-degree front angle and a 22-degree rear angle. This slight difference makes the pistol naturally point and shoot, bringing your hand right up into the grip for better control.
We’ve had all kinds of shooters test the XP Pro—new shooters, military veterans, competitive shooters—and they all agree: the grip angle just feels right. It pulls your hand up into the pistol in a way that feels natural, and that’s something we’re really proud of.
- 7075 Aluminum Grip Module: Fully machined for strength and lightweight handling.
- Optimized Grip Angles: 17-degree front and 22-degree rear angles for natural pointability.
- Tested by Professionals: Shooters of all levels found the grip angle enhances control and shooting comfort.
Built for Customization
The XP Pro isn’t just about what we’ve put into it—it’s also about what you can add. We know shooters love to customize their pistols, so we made sure this platform is as adaptable as possible. You’ll be able to swap out slides, add aftermarket sights, change the grip, and even tweak the internal parts to suit your preferences.
We’ve also designed the XP Pro with aftermarket parts in mind, so whether you want a new slide stop, thumb safety, or trigger, we’ve got you covered. And for the gunsmiths out there, we’ll be offering bald slides and oversized grips that you can machine to your liking.
- Customizable Platform: Easy to swap out slides, sights, and internal parts.
- Aftermarket Support: Parts like slide stops, thumb safeties, and triggers will be widely available.
- Gunsmith-Friendly: Bald slides and oversized grips for customization will be offered.
