Fusion Firearms, Custom Shop Fusion Pro Line 1911 full size Government pistol. This is a highly refined hand crafted custom built pistol showing extreme attention to detail and craftsmanship. All of the parts used are the best of the best for all of the Fusion Custom Shop builds. This pistol incorporates the Fusion Pro Line “Mil Spec” Forged carbon steel Frame and Slide, & match stainless 45acp barrel. For finishing; the pistol is finished in our Black Shield Nitro Melonite, extreme duty finish. This finish is one of the best for durability and wear resistance and made for rugged duty use. The slide is the standard rounds top Colt configuration with the “old-School” Mil style cocking serrations. The build Options with this pistol stay on track with a traditional WWI Colt style RETRO pistol with Lanyard Loop Mainspring housing, short trigger, GI grip safety, thumb safety and white dot 70 series stake on sights. The Pistol also has a light dehorning, and is tested, tuned and reliability job included. Trigger is set at a clean & crisp 3.5 pound, a super nice target trigger. For grips the pistol is stocked with our Full checkered red cocobolo grips. With traditional slotted head screws. Comes with 1 magazine, Range bag and extra spring maintenance kit. Magnificent Tribute GunFirst, I would like to thank the people at Fusion for their outstanding customer service. In the process of selecting this gun, I spoke with Bob Serva, his son Tyler, and his daughter, Courtney who runs the office. Everyone was pleasant and helpful, and I ended up with exactly what I wanted in the weapon. That was a pre-1924 M1911 style gun that paid tribute to John Browning's original design and those who carried it, but that was modern, reliable, and custom. There are several different options currently available for that. Having looked at all or most of them, I could not be happier with this one.
The fit and finish is everything you could hope for in a custom 1911. Slide/frame fit is exquisite. The barrel lock up is perfect. Fusion's Black Shield finish is a melanite process that is modern, tough, and looks a lot like the "Black Army" finish of the day. Most importantly, the trigger is everything it's advertised to be. 3/5 lbs., short take-up, short over-travel, and breaks like the proverbial glass rod.
Fusion put on a shorter, wide hammer spur and checkered mag release for me to more closely match the originals, but the improved sights, top quality parts (no MIM parts here), and tough finish make this a retro custom that is tough and reliable for hard use today. If it were a muscle car, you'd call this a "resto-mod" and be happy to drive it. I certainly am.Posted on
